Solving the Mystery of Marine Protected Area (MPA) Performance

I am privileged to be a part of an exceptional collaboration exploring the links between MPA governance and ecosystem structure, function, and services as part of a SeSync Working Group: “Solving the Mystery of Marine Protected Area (MPA) Performance” .

Not only is it an excellent question – what governance characteristics makes MPAs successful, at the technical forefront of conservation science, but it is also brilliantly led by the wonderful Drs. Helen Fox (RARE) and Mike Mascia (Conservation International), from whom I am grateful to have learned a massive amount about facilitation and successful collaboration. This working group has also been a fantastic experience for me, full of brilliant and inspirational women and early career professionals, capably herded by the LHI SeSync post-doc David Gill.
